5 Tips to Help Sell Your Home For Top Dollar!

  1. GET RID OF YOUR CLUTTER! Its time to pack up most of your personal items and stack them neatly in the garage or basement. To depersonalize your space, all of your personal knick-knacks need to be removed. Empty space means clarity of mind, and will help potential buyers to visualize how their possessions would fit into your home.
  2. RESTORE THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF EACH ROOM. If you are using a space for something other than what it was originally intended for, temporarily restore its original purpose. Display bedrooms as bedrooms, etc. and remove excess furniture or items that do not belong.
  3. PAINT. Neutral, simple tones will help people to imagine their own colours and pictures on the walls. Neutralizing the space will make visitors feel less like they are intruding on someone’s personal space. And please, keep the trim white.
  4. FLOORS. Clean floors make a wonderful difference. Steam clean the carpets so they smell fresh, buff up the hardwood and paint the basement floor if you can.
  5. EXTERIOR. Keep the lawn cut, snow removed and lights on at night. That way people doing a drive-by can see your home at its best at all times.
